This card is for two of the challenges this week. First, Lisa asked us to use an oldie but goodie stamp. This is one of my all time favorite stamp from way back. Love those detailed stamps. Wendy asked us to be inspired by the 70's. Immediately thought of the color choices for home furnishings at this time. It was either olive green, gold, orange or brown. My kitchen was all olive green, even the cupboards along with the appliances. One tires of this after awhile, but back then the appliances were made to last 15 to 20 years. Needless to say all appliances have been white since those days. Colored the image with watercolor pencils after stamping it with the walnut stain ink. Using an olive green pencil made the background, added some white highlights. The frame was from my scrapbooking days. TFL

Oh, this is gorgeous, Linda! I think that's the prettiest horse images I've seen made into a stamp, and the dinim frame is perfect. I love the font in your background as well - it reminds me of a cowboy's bandana.
And yes, we had those olive green appliances, too! I remember everyone had either Olive or Harvest Gold, haha : )

What a beautiful card...that image is very cool and I do remember all those warm color tones that were popular for decorating...and those yellow and green appliances...yikes!

Wow! Amazing realism of your painted horse. There is nothing to indicate it's a stamp! Love the blue jean mat with metal buttons! And the twine made to look like barbed wire is genius element of design!
It's funny how those 'earthy' colored appliances from the 70's are now colors people chose for rustic decor! Love your card Linda!

Oh my, this would have fit right in my living room in 1977! The avocado, the walnut stain, the artsy sketched image - all of it right out of the era! Fun take on the challenge. TFS
My first thought upon seeing your card was "did you know her too?" LOL I can't remember her name, Theresa jumps to mind but I am not sure if my memory is playing tricks on me. She had long straight hair (i had willful curly hair. She was an early feminist before I even understood what that was. We were in 4th grade and she was wild for horses! Your card takes me right back there. When I think of the 70's I think of that spunky girl (who I didn't understand at all - I was a mouse lol) and her love of horses!! We were always on the move so I have no idea what she did with her life but I would love to know! Your horse is stunning! The framing is perfect for the gorgeous image!

The coloring on your horse is perfection plus and the denim frame is awesome with it's corner rivets! Your use of both the avacado base & toast dp makes me smile - I had all avocado appliances but as they "died" the only thing available was the new toast color so both my kitchen AND laundry room ended up half & half!

I am grinning from ear to ear, because this house we have now was built in 1970... and it had green kitchen appliances and shag carpet lol.. This cards is so classic I love the rustic knots for the rope too Linda. (and I own this stamp because, of all the cool things I have seen you do with it)
