This is for Polly's terrific mixed media challenge - to use "text"from a book, magazine, etc and then die cut it and use on your card. I am also popping this into the very first MISTI Monday challenge. For all the details for the MISTI challenge click MISTI Monday August 2017 by MISTI Monday at Splitcoaststampers
The background was done using distress inks and the Smack & Squirt technique and blending. Smack distress ink pad onto aluminium foil, squirt on a lot of water, then use a foam blending tool and scrub it on to the card panel. Build up the colour by drying the cardstock with a heat gun before adding more colour.
Once dry, I did the border stamping using MISTI, this was a fun technique! I then coloured the weirdo girl with Prismacolour pencils and a dash of Copic marker over the top. She was stamped onto photo-copy paper, coloured, then fussy cut.
I used text from a cookbook and die cut a little fence and a pair of gumboots.
Thanks for looking, I hope you all have a happy, inky weekend.

Oh, sis, this is amazing! I LOVE this funky gal with adorable hair and outfit, and what beautiful colors you've used! Great idea to use the text for her boots and the fence. I love it, and you are amazingly creative and a real joy! Hugs and love you to the moon! xoxo

This is fantastic. Lovely bright rainbow background. Must have taken you hours to plat her air like that - he he. Love the way you always put stripped stockings on your birds and again on this cute little girlie. Great way to incorporate the printing onto the card. Gorgeous.

Wow, Susie! This is fabulous. I love the bold, vivid colors and your weirdo girl is outstanding. Oh, and I would love to take a trip to Australia and visit your craft table to meet you and watch you work! That would be such fun!

This is totally awesome, but I am confused ho wrought keep the text white. I love the white text onthe boots and fence but don't understand how it stayed white. Is this the brushing and rubbing you spoke of?
