Pam is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us some pretty, soft spring colors this week: So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach and Cucumber Crush. The dessert option is Spring Flowers.
I treated myself to a set of the new Distress Oxide inks, and pulled out the ones closest to this week's colors. I watched a ton of videos, and then grabbed a piece of Mixed Media cardstock and jumped in. Wow! That was easy and fun, and I am very pleased with how the background panel came out.
I stamped the flowers on Very Vanilla cardstock. First layer, So Saffron. Second layer Peekaboo Peach, stamped off one time. Third layer, Peekaboo Peach, full strength. The centers are stamped in black ink, and dotted with a white gel pen. I bravely stamped the stems and bud directy onto the Oxide panel, then the greeting in black. I fussy-cut the blooms and shaped them a bit, and popped up with Dimensionals. Die cut the frames, popped the main panel up with foam tape.

Oh Barbara, this is beautiful!! I love the background behind your beautiful flower and the framing sets everything perfectly. Well done! Thanks for joining us on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

Gorgeous background supporting your very pretty blossoms! Love the depth you achieved with it. The way you gave your poppies some dimension really lets them standout against the background. I have always loved the way poppy petals look like fragile paper and yours have that look about them. Beautiful!
