Roberta is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us three pretty colors, Rose Red, Very Vanilla and Basic Gray, with the dessert option to make a Valentine's card.
This was a perfect challenge for me, as I've had this set of Hero Arts stamps and dies for a year, and haven't used them—and I need a Valentine's card for my sweetie, of course!
I die cut my heart from Very Vanilla cardstock, traced around the outside of the die with a pencil, and then cut out the heart shape. Then I went about stamping all those cute little Sweethearts candies using Rose Red ink. I love how the little hearts are only partially cut by the die and can stand out from the page.
I traced the heart die again on the back of a sheet of silver (my substitution for gray) Tim Holtz deco sheets, measured out an additional 1/4" and then cut with deckle-edge scissors.
I used another stamp from Hero Arts for the greeting, and cut with Inside & Out stitched oval dies from MFT.
In spite of trying to be super-careful to keep the big heart free of ink smudges, it was not to be, affording me the opportunity for further embellishment with little Martha Stewart heart confetti, strategically placed and glued.
Paper: Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Thoroughly Modern DS paper, Tim Holtz Deco Sheets
Paper Size: A2
Ink: Rose Red
Accessories: Hero Arts die from January 2016 Kit of the Month, Inside & Out oval stitched dies (MFT), deckle edge scissors, glue dots, Martha Stewart confetti

It was geometric patterns was what drew me drawing first. I really go for the rounded square and circle pattern! I will probably use this for inspiration sometime! Superb!

What a delightful Valentine's card for your husband. He is going to love this! How neat that you pulled out your Hero Arts stamps for the first time too. Gotta love that! Yep, smudges happen to the best of us, and you made the best of that "opportunity" my friend because I would never know in a million years this happened. ~Karen
