One minute it was Saturday and now its half way through the week! This is a very belated upload for Polly's fabulous mixed media challenge to use cotton balls and jazz up a dull background.
Using a cotton ball I dabbed on diluted white chalk paint, that didn't look so good so I used the same cotton ball and scrubbed it over the entire card.
That didn't look so good either so I grabbed a baby wipe while the paint was still wet and very firmly wiped the paint off. To my amazement not only did the white paint come off but so did the dull paint and a fair bit of dull ink from the original cardstock.
Next I squirted a little bit of blue Dylusions ink spray onto al foil and without diluting it, I swooshed an ink soaked cotton ball all over the card.
Continuing with cotton balls I used several different stencils. I can't believe how much easier it is to stencil with paint using a cotton ball as opposed to a paintbrush, stippling brush or foam.
Miranda is a gorgeous embossed image sent to me by Helen (helekins). In the true spirit of mixed media, she is coloured with Prismacolour Pencils, distress crayons and alcohol markers. Fussy cut and adhered to the card with 3D tape.
I hope everyone has a happy, inky new year. Thank you for looking.

Susie, this mixed media piece is so gorgeous! I love the layer upon layer of beautiful stamping, stencilling, and painting. The mermaid is beautiful and perfectly embellished with those lovely flowers and butterflies. This is truly another work of art by our dear Susie.

Wow, sis, this is absolutely gorgeous, and I giggle when I read your description...not at you, but at the thoughts of your sitting/standing there doing all this work as you get it to final perfection! I think this is gorgeous (as are all your works of heart), and I love the beautiful gal with her amazing floral "gown!" Hugs and lots of love, sis! xoxo
