This is for a sad purpose. The grandson of a lady from our church committed suicide. There are no words so all we can do is pray for and support the family. We'll be leaving for the funeral shortly.
I had this begun earlier with the woodgrain panel I'd sponged and the image I'd watercolored using the Vintage Watercoloring technique which I have fallen in love with. This butterfly lends itself well to the technique. I stamped in the Distress Ink and used only black and brown Elegant Writer pens to add the shading around and reddish colors to. These come from activating the ink with water and then moving that color around. The tan comes from activating the stamped Distress Ink. I did take a Slate marker to accentuate the shading and along with a Razzleberry marker to add some detail back in. I laid out my hardwood atrip and Espresso accent piece then "snapped/flicked" my Bronze sharpie to spatter the copper color around. I popped the right side of the butterfly over the layers. I added my Espresso ribbon using a cheater's bow that is relatively flat.
