Happy Saturday everyone!! I am enjoying a rare Saturday alone and that means stamping time as well as some well-needed house cleaning.
Most Saturdays I check out Audrie's IC challenge even though most of the time I can't play along. This week I am thrilled to have some time to play!
I have need of a one-layer birthday card so I went browsing for CAS cards on the Pinterest board Audrie selected.
I found THIS one by Birgit. I LOVE the drama she created with her shadows and gorgeous watercolor. I don't have a blue distress ink in a similar shade as the inspiration photo so I used Mermaid Lagoon and added some Pumice Stone to tame the color a bit. I like the way it adds a bit of dimension to the sky. I changed the orientation from a square to a horizontal space to give the plane a bit more sky to fly in!
Thanks so much Audrie for providing us so much inspiration each week!!
(hmmm. I switched out the photo because the background staging didn't match the sponging and it was driving me crazy but now it seems like the old one is stuck in the gallery...anyway....if you are wondering why when you click this there's a different background, that's why!)

Oh, Angie, what a fabulous CASE of Birgit's card, and I LOVE the airplane and your fabulous sky! What a gorgeous one-layer card! I've never been great at them, but this is wonderful - and it's a masculine card too! Beautifully done, and I agree with Audrie about how beautifully you stage your cards! Hugs, my friend! xoxo

Angie this looks wonderful. I love how such a small image can stand proud and be the centre piece. Oh how I would love to sit and you create CAS magic.....then watch you photograph them!!
