I made this card for the Double O Alphabet challenge to make a one-layer card with the letter O (for Ocean). I have a confession to make, after more than 23 years of stamping, this is my very first one-layer card. Yep! I love texture and dimension and I have never been able to get my brain to make a one-layer card - until today. The reason for participating in challenges is to be challenged- and this was a doozey for me. Ugh! I know this is not an original design by any means, but it is a HUGE accomplishment for me so for that reason, I am tickled to say, "I did it!" I will be giving this card to a friend who is going through a rough time so she knows I am thinking of her and that I care.

Karen this is gorgeous!! I love your attitude about challenges, you sure mastered this one layer challenge. The layout is terrific and your sponging and clouds are beautiful. Your friend is sure to love this.

Wowsers, Karen. Your blue sponging on this is so good. I love and have this set and never tire of seeing other's creativity with it. I agree, one layers really make your mind go on tilt for a bit! Congrats on your first one layer card!

Wow, Karen, this is gorgeous, and I LOVE the sky and how you've sponged the ocean. And these sweet sandpipers are the cutest. I always love seeing them scammer off as we approach them. Beautiful first-time one-layer card. I never would have known! Hugs, sweet friend!
