For Sandy's great fun Tickle a Teapotter challenge this week. When I first read it (I'm always lucky to get a sneak preview when the hostesses get the challenge in to me ;-), I knew my biggest problem would be which stamps to use. Well - I am/was a cook. I had a Voila chef all stamped and ready to piece which I didn't use for my DTGD challenge - and the Iron Chef chicks which I did use for that challenge, and of course the so-stylish Diva Chef from Rubber Romance. And a lovely stamp with bottles of oil infusing with herbs and dried herbs...
In the end, I went with this sweet little owl from Hero Arts who looks a bit anxious about how well his cooking is proceeding.
I stamped and masked the mixer, then the owl was stamped and masked. I stamped the little flowers for the tiled backsplash and drew in the grid. Masked this off and stamped in the wooden worktop. Removed all the masks and coloured the owl with Polychromos pencils.
Due to lack of forethought it originally looked as if the owl was standing on the tiles...so the measuring jug and honey jar (to sweeten the judges) were added to cover up where I had to remove some of the tiling.
The sentiment is coated with two layers of EP and added with brads, and the honey jar has a thick coat of Glossy Accents. I added some gingham with stitching round the edges - for a tea-towel - and was lucky enough to find a doily in my box of bits received in tickles. It was already a soft blue, I just sponged a little to make it match my colours a bit better.

Oh wow, Sabrina, I thought the image came all put together as a kitchen scene. You did a fantastic job designing and masking everything. That owl is so cute and I love the tile backsplash. Adorable card.
