This is my sample for CC598. I am your hostess this week and the color palette is all about fall with cajun craze, crushed curry, chocolate chip and garden green. Dessert is fall and you can interpret that how you want.
For my card I decided to make a fall wreath and use a greeting for Thanksgiving. My first Thanksgiving card for this season. The wreath die is from CottageCutz - the Build-A-Grapevine Wreath. The leaves are cut from cardstock in this week's colors, and I sponged the edges for a little depth.
The background panel is the Stampin'-Up "hardwood" stamp. I used cajun craze ink and stamped on kraft cardstock. I used foam mounting tape on this panel to give it a bit of dimension.
The sentiment is a stamp from Stampabilities. I stamped on Cajun craze cardstock and then used a die to cut the flag. I also used foam mounting tape on the flag.
I decided after I already had my other layering pieces cut to make the card base garden green. The GG base is 4 3/8" x 5 5/8". In order to get that size, I used a hinge technique. You cut a piece of cardstock 2" x 4 3/8" and fold it in half. This was taped to 2 pieces of garden green cardstock measuring 4 3/8" x 5 5/8". If you want to see a visual of how it's done, check this post on my blog.
To finish off my card, I added a twine bow with a Cajun craze candy dot center. And, that is my card for this week. I hope you can play along this week. Check out the other DT samples for more inspiration.
