I have been AWOL from the gallery lately - I wish I could relate an exotic story about frolicking in some tropical paradise, but it has just been a case of too many "have to does" and too few "want to does". I know that this altered book appears to have nothing to do with our theme of keeping cool, but it really does fit...and I don'T even have to cheat. It also works for the CTO316 "where your heart is". I love my perfectly temperature controlled local library. The air conditioning is amazing...I wish they had sleep overs. The book that I used to make this altered book came from the library where they sell all used books for 25cents.
I always make very elaborate cards for my sons' birthdays, but I needed something extra special for my older son's 21st birthday. On the back of the book I have a lot of room to write about how proud we are, how much we love him, and to add my fav. quote..." When I took the leap I feared I would fall. Instead I learned I could fly". This is so perfect for someone turning 21.

OMG - why didn't I get a notification on this! I am so glad I didn't miss it - it's spectacular! I can't begin to imagine the time and patience it took to do this. What an amazing treasure for your son's 21st. I always love your work, Francie, but this is beyond amazing! It's going in my favorites even if it is the wrong week!

Francie, this is Absolutely Amazing!!!!! I feel I just have put my late 2 cents in since this is such an Impressive undertaking and it demands something to be said about it. This is a true Masterpiece. This could become an heirloom. If you added some pages, it could become something passed down from son to grandson to greatgrandson, etc. (should they, of course, have male offspring...but what rule says you can't pass it down to a daughter?) when they turn 21...with space for each father to fill in a special message to his son (or daughter). I'm probably a little late with this idea though. But, my goodness, what a Wonderful thing you've done.
