While I can't share the actual challenge details, I can share how I made this card. The stenciled background was made using gesso and distress ink. I keep confusing gesso with modeling paste...oh well, it doesn't really matter - there are NO rules in art (and they are both white, same shaped pot, made by the same company - any wonder I mix them up).
The little houses are a digi stamp, printed onto photocopy paper and then coloured with Prismacolour Pencils and highlighted with Spectrum Noir pens and Copics. Colouring on the el cheapo paper is a dream and it's super easy to fussy cut - I may never buy blending cardstock again!!
I chose this title because Splitcoaststampers is like a village to me. Thank you to everyone who contributes their time and shares their creativity to make this a truly wonderful place.

* Sniff, sniff * Awwww, what a nice tribute Susie. Hopefully, I'm not the village idiot! I find this card so intriguing. LOL Like your idea of using regular copy paper, I always wondered how it would hold up compared to the thicker CS. Totally, love this card. Perhaps you might send it my way so I can get a closer look. wink-wink

Susie, this is such a sweet, magical village. I love the stenciled spiderweb and the cobblestones. And it's really hard to fathom you got the shading results with el cheapo paper! I really need that teleporter so I can come play and learn from you!!!

Wow, wow, and WOW! This is probably my very most favorite card of all time in the history of EVER! Amazing design and details - into my favorites folder, for sure! Thank you so much for your ongoing inspiration, and thanks, too, for the tip on the copy paper - I'll have to try it out!

Wow, wow, wow and did mention wow! I love the colors. The bouncing light just draws your eyes into the lovely village. I love the colorsand your coloring is phenomenal! Copy paper you say? Well that is cheap enough to make mistakes on. Can you use gesso and texture paste with copy paper or just for the printed image?
