I made this for the 600th sketch challenge which challenged us to go back and find a favorite sketch. I didn't have to go far for this one. It is sketch #590.
I cut the butterfly out of plastic that our dies come in using picturesque cricut cart. I inked it up using Tim Holtz alcohol inks in wild plum, blue? not sure which one, copper, and gold. I embossed it and then mounted it on white cs and fussy cut it out. The doily was made using a stencil and cloudy blue adirondak ink. I stamped love in "ink it up" purple and then again in marvelous magenta. I cut an extra circle in white to go around the doily, then I traced around it with a purple marker. I punched out the lacy border. I adhered everything to a pretty pale blue and white dsp. Then I took a gold gel pen and started outlining everything. I outlined each layer, love, and the design in the dsp. In real life the gold really stands out and shimmers and the butterfly is super glossy. Unfortunately, that is really hard to pick up on my camera.
Thanks for a great challenge and for taking a peek!
