I am your hostess this week and I have chosen: pacific point, wild wasabi, soft sky, crumb cake and for dessert: "at the beach".
I masked off my vertical section and then used more torn masks to sponge the sand, water, moon, etc. To make the reflection of the moon I sponged some white pigment ink across the water. I had never tried that before and I love how it worked! Added more texture to the rest of the water by dabbing more white pigment on with a stiff bristle brush. The rest is pretty clear - used some marker to color a bit on the birds.

This narrow glimpse of a beach scene at moonrise is just awesome! Your sponged on color has so much dimension and the moon reflected in the water looks amazing. This is really outstanding, Maura!

This is just beautiful Maura!! You are so creative with the masking and strip of scene! I love the moon shine you did and the stippled shine spots in the water...I will have to try that next time...I love the look! Your birds are beautiful too!

Wonderful layout and wonderful card! I keep looking at the water and the horizon line--amazing effect you got by stippling white over the blue. Thank you for explaining how you made this card. Daria
