I chose the 2nd sample given for my inspiration and made a background of 1" punched squares of DP, each sponged with vintage photo distress ink.
For the letter P, I have patchwork and peeled paint distress ink. For part 2 of the challenge (paint), I painted my flowers using the technique of watercolor with distress inks. Instead of using ink refills, I just pressed my ink pads on a sheet of clear packaging material & picked up the ink with my water brush. When I added the sentiment, it covered part of the leaf. I didn't like the way that looked, so I just cut a new leaf and glued it over the top, which I like much better.
