What a lovely Technique Challenge KellyJean (kellyjg) provided us today - Pencil Me In! KellyJean's idea is to make a stamped image look as though it has been sketched with a pencil instead of stamped with ink. What a wonderful idea of KellyJean's, and it's her first time hosting the Technique Lovers Challenge. She did a great job! Thumbs up to KellyJean!!
I selected a stamp from the SU Seaside Sketches for my sketch. I lightly stamped Smoky Slate ink onto the stamp and stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. Parts of the image didn't show as I didn't use enough ink. However, I took care of that with a pencil.
Using a pencil (e.g., regular #2 pencil), I traced over the sketch, filling in the non-stamped parts, and adding some shading and a few strokes of my own.
This sketch reminds me of my 16-month old granddaughter who LOVES the beach, especially all the birds she gets to see there. As I was photographing the card, I noticed on the right side you could see the sun setting. How perfect is that considering the sketch, and near sunset is the time my granddaughter gets to go to the beach.
I had a great fun with this technique. Thanks, KellyJean!
I greatly appreciate you viewing my card and being so kind to leave a comment!!
Blessings!
Bev
