I was inspired by the beautiful poppy paintings painted by Kathleen. They are just beautiful.
I grew some Flanders Poppies in the garden last year and it was the first time that the possums didn't dine out on them for dessert after they finished off the parsley plants. They were so very pretty and I will try to grow them again this year. They reminded me of little lady bugs - with their brilliant red and black.
Anzac Day is coming up here in April - where Australians and New Zealanders remember the terrible loss of life in Gallipoli in Turkey during the first world war. So I thought these pretty Penny Black poppies were appropriate.
