Since DH lost his job, he has been doing some contract work whenever he can get it...so he is not too picky. Today he had to leave the house by 5am, which means that I was up and ready too. Since I don'T leave for work until 7am, I had time to make this card. Both the TLC and CAS Challenges looked fun. I had no idea what I wanted to do, so I scribbled some blues and greens onto acitate, sprayed with water and smooshed with card stock. I did this several times to get the color darker. Next, I hunted for stamps and settled for these...I don'T think I have ever used the hummingbird. This next step is usually where I destroy the card and give up. It needed SOMETHING - those fatal words that have ruined plenty of cards. I masked the stamped areas and splattered white paint with a toothbrush. This has NEVER worked for me. Feeling bold, I even added stickles to the bird. 2 opportunities for an atomic bomb blast, and my card survived. I'm off to buy a lotto ticket on my lunch hour...I am feeling lucky. TFL, Francie

Your background turned out wonderfully, especially in the sky area. I always have trouble with spattering too, it's so unpredictable and is why I have several spatter-style stamps. Yours looks just fantastic!! I hope you go on having a lucky day, Francie.
p.s.sorry for not replying to your PM yet, I didn't have the computer on much over the weekend. But I was glad to know it arrived, I'd been thinking of you.

Your commentary has me laughing here...oh, how I relate. I might just have to go a lottery ticket in honor of you. Your card is super cool...love the background that just wouldn't quit.
Keep after it.

Great background and wonderful splattering - I like how you are brave and try it - me I just think about it and don't even get to the point of trying. Fingers crossed your lottery ticket comes in.

This is GORGEOUS! Your background is fantastic - what a beautiful card! Your bird is so pretty and I luv the way you lined the margins and included the sentiment in it.
