Thanks so much for the brilliant challenge Dina - coffee!!!
I used an 8" square lid from a container. I added 3 tablespoons of coffee and about 5 tablespoons of boiling water. Stir and let it cool.
After my blue/black hair phase in my twenties, I moved on to my red Henna phase. It wasn't the authentic henna it was just heaps and heaps of very strong coffee. Ahhh the good old days.
The reason I mention this is because the girl tag was coloured in earlier this week using Prismacolour pencils, but I mucked up her hair (orange red). This coffee challenge was the perfect solution. In real life her hair looks streaked and very shiny! I would have paid serious money for that colour in my day LOL.
The butterfly tag was made by dunking the tag into the coffee. The butterfly was lightly painted with various strengths of coffee.
I found a foam stick called "Fantastix" in the bottom of my tool kit - I have no clue as to why I bought it but it was great for randomly adding coffee spots.
I am still away with my limited supplies so this challenge was perfect!! Thank you for looking.

Susie, you've become a Mixed Media Dirty Dozen darling! You did a splendid job with both pieces of work. And the cherry on top? Learning you had a blue/black hair phase (she giggles). You go girl!! Fav'd!

Hello my amazing friend! Gorgeous results as usual. You never cease to amaze me with your art. The depth on the butterfly is beautifully done. It looks like it was cut out and popped up! I'm with Ellen, you must have a magic tool bag. I'm also imagining you as a young women with gorgeous henna hair and people trailing behind you trying to figure out where the coffee is hidden ; )

I once commented that you could make a masterpiece with mud and a stick... well this just proves that. Coffee and a stick and you created these 2 beautiful pieces of art. The colors on the butterfly are amazing.

Giggling - I love the henna hair story - and the girl on the tag. However, I believe you have outdone yourself with the butterfly - absolutely stunning!

Oh the adventures you take us on, Susie! Adventures aside, both of these tags are awesome! The movement you have put into the hair, and coloring, so lifelike! And that butterfly, simply beautiful!
