A get well card going postal tomorrow - the front says "Sorry to hear of your unfortunate break" and inside along with the bandaged up chicken, it says "Hope you're all fixed up now".
Ever since I got these Marianne dies I've wanted to make a pegboard style card...I don't have a die, but I pencilled in a grid and used my old Fiskars eyelet setter, then erased the pencil lines. I used brads for the little pegs. The tools were cut from matt silver, black and kraft sponged with brown, and then cut up and assembled.
For the base, I cut more of the dies from a cereal box and stuck them to the base, along with some drywall mesh tape and "screws" which were simply punched circles scored across the centre. Then I added the tape, burnished it down, and rubbed paint over. Oh yes - I added some lines with a tracing wheel, too. Full description of the technique is in TLC438.
I stapled the computer-generated sentiment on and popped the pegboard up on foam. Inside, the sentiment is also computer-generated. I used the tracing wheel again to add a border round the edge, and sponged lightly with black.

You are so clever! I loved reading the description of how you made this, Sabrina. And the result is outstanding! Love the fabulous little pegboard, love the way you repeated the tools in the silver BG by going over them with silver tape. What a great card!

So fun, and so creative! I love the background, and your tools hanging on the pegboard. The chicken is a terrific humorous touch!

This is so, so cleverly done, the bg with the screws, tools, and distressed metal look is great, then the little pegboard just tops it all off! Perfect masculine get well creation!

Oh the fun you have with your chicken stamps!!! The front of your card with the metal embossing of the tools and accented with the black acrylic paint, makes a wonderful setting for the tools and pegboard (very creatively crafted too) and the humor inside is going to bring instant laughter and healing chuckles! Great concept brought to fruition!!

Please don't take your organs to heaven - heaven knows we need them here.
Just browsing the gallery looking for a masculine card, and I came across this. Awesome! You make a lot of cards...
I have a tool set from PTI...I may have to 'borrow' your pegboard idea, this is great. The tools look amazing...at first glance they actually appear to be 3D. I never even thought to stamp them on silver paper. How clever.
Super duper!

Wow! I love that background! The foil and black paint really give dimension and an industrial feel to your card. I have a tracing wheel around somewhere too and would never have thought to use it this way. It looks great!
