I was so excited when Loll asked me to be a guest designer for the 12 tag event! What fun I had doing these! Thank you Loll!
Is everyone tired of these guys yet? Plain white cardstock was sprayed with Marion Smith Color Lab. These are powders that were mixed into sprays and leave a tiny hint of sparkle, not visible in the photo. I had no blue to work with so mixed up some Dharma Trading Procion dyes for natural fibers and made blue to spray on top of it. This resulted in the ugliest background I ever did. I friend talked me out of trashing it. I fed the tag through my printer and added some branches with Photoshop brushes. Stamped the birds and colored with copics and pencils, fussy cut and positioned on the branches. I did shrink one to be the "little kid" bird. The sentiment was computer generated. I then sponged the edges to give the illusion of light shining through and finished with glossy accents on the eyes. Join us for some fun at Loll's 12 tag challenge. You can find the information here

I'm so glad you didn't throw that background out! It is wonderful - great blend of colours that give fabulous texture and a real sense of a cold wintery sky! Love the humour you created with the little bird and what he's saying!

...sure its got a catchy beat, but can you stamp to it?

I love, love, love this bg!! It is my favorite part of the card. Others of us try to do something like this, but don't. It looks like a cloudy day and it just looks and feels perfect. Anyway, if you would have made it "pretty" in your eyes, it may have taken away from your adorable birds. See, you created a most perfect tag. :>)

You take the Olympic gold in the Crazy Bird contest. I couldn't wait to get mine, bought the accessories and dies, and have not used them yet! That's because i was looking for something uniqe enough to copy. Now that I've found it, I know i could not duplicare the perfext background and /or the small bird that is so perfect. You are a WIZARD!!!
