I wanted to do another card for our inspiration challenge this week (IC500), and loved the beach scene in these photos with the pop of red and blue (the picture on the left): http://greenweddingshoes.com/wp-cont...-styled-17.jpg
I masked and sponged ink to create the background scene (scalloped mask for clouds), stamped some grass for some added texture, and then the sentiment (pieced together from 2 different sentiments!). Die cut the other pieces, paper pieced the umbrella, added inktense watercolor pencil shading on the gulls and then wet with an aquabrush, and colored w/ markers for the beaks. Assembled with a stitched frame and popped up the chair, umbrella, frame and 2 birds with dimensional tape. Love how this turned out! Linking also to:
This is such a lovely scene you have created! It really makes the visitor sink into it. Thank you very much for showing your card at the ATSM challenge. Will we see you again next time? Creative regards from stempelfrida http://stempelfrida.blogspot.de

OMG, Maura... this is absolutely fabulous! I love those seagulls and I am giving you a heads up that I am going to copy your idea of adding the black to the white die cuts. I sure never thought of that and it looks great. The big bright umbrella looks to cool. What fun it would be to meet you here with some prestamped images to color. Into my favs.
