Sometimes things just work out....this was in the works yesterday afternoon.
Tuesday I went with several friends to lunch and then on to see the movie, "Woman in Gold"....the saga of Gustav Klimt's "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I". The movie is what REALLY inspired me to create a thank you card for the friend who had put together this wonderful afternoon. I LOVED the movie. Although Klimt's painting took three years for him to complete, I did my card in a micro percentage of that time. : ) It's not intended to duplicate Klimt's technique, but to evoke the "feeling of". As one of my "hobbies du jour", I did gold leafing. I saved all my "flakes" from burnishing in a box. These happen to be from faux leaf in silver, gold and Dutch metal.(What you perceive as "white" spots are the silver) I sized my paper haphazardly and then laid the paper face down into the box, burnished the leaf, sealed, embossed, and sponged on some TH inks. The butterfly was done with the embossing resist technique on a separate piece of paper and then cut out and pasted on the bg. It is a thank you, but I did not want to add words to the face of the card.

I'm so upset that I don't get notifications on your uploads about half of the time, I would have been very unhappy if I had missed this! It is stunning! I've been looking at my leafing and thinking I needed to do something with it - but could never have come up with this! Just spectacular!
