When DH saw this he said "that must have been hard to photograph". Indeed it was - so you can just believe me that, since it's embossed, the sentiment (There's nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly) is easier to read in real life.
To go with the idea behind the sentiment, I wanted to create a dark background and a vivid butterfly. So, I embossed the butterfly with clear EP on watercolour paper, wet it lightly with a brush and then sprinkled some Brushos over. When it was dry, I masked it off and sponged in dark colours for the background, and then stamped the foliage in Versafine Smokey Grey. I added the sentiment and embossed it with clear EP. The whole panel is popped up on foam onto a base which I had edged with gilding flakes.

Oh this is marvelous. I looked at the picture. My mouth dropped open and my first thought was "Out of the Darkness". Then I looked at your title. You portrayed it well. Your card and idea are both beautiful.

Wow, this card is clearly a stunner. Love the edging. The butterfly looks so good embossed in white with all those pretty colours intertwinned. Beautiful work my dear.

Just gorgeous, Sabrina. Love the light colored butterfly on the dark and mysterious bg for drama. I must have been channeling you and Gustav when I was creating my card. ; )

Sabrina, you really pulled out all the stops with this! The butterfly is gorgeous - love the technique you used to color him, and the dark background is stunning. The gilded edges really set it off. Fabulous!

I can imagine how difficult this was to photograph and though it isn't as luminous as it is IRL, it is beautiful! I love the duplication of the butterfly's colors that you incorporated in the border. The background is perfect for showcasing that brilliant butterfly.
