I'm so honored to be back on the sketch challenge design team. Love the versatility of this awesome sketch from Cathy. Here's a masculine card I'll set aside for my father. I'll be heading to my parents' for Mother's Day as Mom will be having surgery the day after to have a tumor removed from on her brain (now her third metastasis site). This cancer journey is such a hard thing and I so appreciate my Dad. He really has been a guiding light for me and my siblings and is an awesome caregiver to my mom.
I went with the colors I saw on these beautiful pillows from Saturday's inspiration site Novica. I thought the large circle would be the perfect size for a lighthouse image from my favorite retired set Coast to Coast. I stamped in Memento ink then used markers scribbled on acetate and a wet brush to watercolor. My Slate strip is sponged along the edges as is my dry embossed panel. I used Barbara Anders' awesome sailor's knot tutorial instead of a bow. I popped my 2nd circle over this. I stamped off my Slate and stamped the anchor onto Slate cs. I used a Lagoon marker to ink my sentiment (which I think must have had some leftover darker ink on it) and sponged a bit of blue along the edge.
On the inside of the card, I added some blue strips with a white panel for writing on the card.
