WooHoo it is Tickle a Teapotter time and Jody has given us a brilliant story about Miz Sadie Dalwhimple and the Ding Dong Spring Fling.
Bad weather in Ding Dong, Texas means that this annual outdoors event has to be moved indoors. Thankfully the community centre has been set up to host indoor activities like Scrabble and Dominoes.
Here we have Pippi Longstocking, named after her great-aunt who lives in Sweden. Pippi is ecstatic that the event has been moved indoors as she is currently banned from the community sports oval.
Regrettably Pippi is rather challenged when it comes to sporting events. Last week whilst throwing a javelin, the spear went backward instead of forward. Mr. Walker the gymnasium teacher only suffered minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. After the javelin incident you can understand Pippi's reluctance at throwing the shot put, more importantly it should have served as a warning to anyone standing near by.
Long story short, according to the school newsletter, Mrs. Pomelroy will not be returning until next term. The details of Mrs.Pomelroys broken toes (only 3), were the talk of the town. When Pippi was asked to comment, she expressed relief that 7 other toes were not injured.
Pippi was coloured with Copics and Distress Inks then fussy cut. This is a stairstep fold, it is hard to see in the photo, but there are two little kids behind the window playing a game. Thanks to my MISTI, I stamped the image about 5 times to get a really black finish. I masked over the little vase of flowers that is on this stamp.
Acetate was added to the windows, lace for the curtains, picket fence and a hand made sign completed this card.
I had heaps of fun making this. I probably should confess that Pippi's story is in fact my story, Mrs. Pomelroys real name was Miss Pomroy and I can't remember Mr. WalkerÂ’s real name, but I do remember that he wasn't badly wounded, but two kids did faint at the sight of all the blood.
Have a terrific week everyone.

Oh Susie, I can see that you and I would be the ones sitting on the bench, waiting for someone to pick us for a team, because I'm totally uncoordinated when it comes to sports.
Thankfully, however, you are totally talented in making beauties like this (and in telling a great story).

Susie, I just love your side step cards with the wonderful stories. This one is extra special because Pippi was a favorite set of books to read when I was young. The white wheathered wood on the house looks terrific, and Pippi is too cute. I havehaven't had much time in the gallery this week, but I am glad that I did not miss this gem.
