This is my card for CC527. Karen is our hostess and she chose the subtle palette of wild wasabi, pink pirouette, and sahara sand. Dessert this week is shabby chic.
The colors and dessert this week are out of my stamping element. But, that's what makes you expand as a stamper- right???
I jumped right in and made a shabby chic card and a mixed media one at that. It took me awhile to finish it but when it was done I was pleased with the outcome.
I used some sahara sand dsp from the Stampin-Up "thoroughly modern" collection. I lightly sponged a little pink pirouette ink and stamped some text in the corners using the Stampabilities faded background text stamp.
And, then flicked gesso onto the dsp with a toothbrush. Used my TH paper distresser for the dsp and the SS layer.
I purchased a shabby chic kit from the Funkie Junkie years ago and never used it. Why I would buy it when I don't do that style of card I am not sure. But, it was here for me for today's project.
There was an image, ribbon and lace in the kit that I used on this card. I cut the image down with a circle die and then layered it on a Cherry Lynn Designs die in pink pirouette.
Made the bow, added the lace, some paper and silk flowers and the decorative corner element to complete my card.
Hope you can play along with us this week. You may be our next CC fave or guest designer.

This is just so vintage and definitely shabby chic. I am jealous of the way you can tie that beautiful soft bow with the little pearl in the centre. So pretty.

Wonderful and beautiful shabbiness. You should be proud of this great card. I need to step out of my comfort zone and try some different styles too. TFS and thanks for that nice comment you just left on my SCS527 card. It was fun playing along and it will take me half a day to clean up my studio after pulling everything out to make that card!!!! :>

It was meant to be, Mary. Don't you love it when a plan comes together? What a lovely shabby chic mixed media card you've created using the challenge color paletter. And BTW, I am lovin' that lace! (she smiles).
