This is one of the cards I made for day one of the OCC Stretch Your Dies class. Today's focus was word dies.
The card base was created using the faux embossing technique. to make things easy on myself, I applied a strip of Stick it adhesive to a long enough piece of CS to cut the die several times. Then it was just a matter of peeling off the liner and attaching the die cuts to the card front.
I cut the word die and the flowers from colored craft foam. The butterfly is from a MS punch. If you look closely, you'll notice that my foam "smile" is smaller than the white die cuts behind it. We learned in class today that craft foam actually shrinks when you apply a heat tool. It's a little bit of an exacting process; the foam can go from shrinking to melting in a heartbeat. Ask me how I know...
All of my foam pieces were attached with Crafters Companion glue, and the sequins in the flower centers with Multi Medium. I think this is such a happy card, and it was really fun to put together!
As always, thanks for looking!

This is a WOW...especially after one reads your description, Jody. I lot more went into this card than initially meets the eye. Sounds a little complicated to me...but the results are a delightful and charming card. Beautiful!
