I've been working on my mom's addiction to card making. I think I am making great progress because today she expressed an interest in an SCS tutorial so we make a pact to do the tutorial tonight and send each other pictures. I thought her results were great(she is shy and isn't ready for a gallery yet)! I then took my Watercolor Bokeh paper and put it together with a few challenges in mind. Here is the tutorial we used: Watercolor Bokeh Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
The hardest challenge for me was CAS. I just don't have the eye for clean and simple. It seems to be missing a little something. I could not capture the Wink of Stella, it does have some twinkle. Let me know if you think I should add more. I used Wink of Stella as my dessert...It is by far my favorite embellishment. UPDATE: Hubby thought it was too plain. So this new version has a white ribbon and some white gel pen accents. I think it still looks CAS even with the added embellishing.
I might add a diorama to the back of this tomorrow...but I need to sleep on it first.

Personally, I think your gorgeous card qualifies as CAS....and I'm a nut about keeping things simple. You aren't overpowering your card with layers and layers of frou-frou just for the sake of embellishment. Everything is coordinated and tasteful. Great job with the bokeh.
Thank you for the feedback Andrea. I really had such a hard time adding that strip of ribbon, but to my eye I feel it was needed for balance. I think I am going to force myself to submit to the CAS challenge weekly and get more great feedback like yours so I can "learn" how to do CAS projects with ease
I will say this, yes the bokeh part of the project was time consuming, but fun of course! I enjoyed that the finishing of the layout when really fast. I am so slow with my work because I fuss and arrange and add more and more (my gallery reveals my fussy nature) and I want to be at ease with quick simple cards.
I just know one day I will be short a card for something and won't have half a day to get it done

I love this! Bokeh is one of my favorite techniques (though I use it rarely), and I really love it with the blue and purple. Great job with this week's colors!

This is very pretty! I love those colours. I'm really going to look into that technique. I mostly don't venture far when it comes to different techniques. I really like the embossed panel and bit of ribbon. Adds just enough interest without taking away from your fantastic focal point. TFS
