Congrats Cathy (corysnana1) on becoming our newest featured stamper. I thoroughly enjoyed browsing through your beautiful gallery. Here is the card that inspired me Father's Day
I wanted to make a masculine card and just purchased this new stamp set from Stampin Up "Moon Lake" that I wanted to use today. My image has a tree in it, plus I used similar colours and twine. Kept the layout very simple. I added the stitching.
Stamped the image with Stazon jet black ink on water colour paper. Water coloured the image. Added the water, sky, small mountains and the birds. Stamped the sentiment with black and then shadow stamped with going grey ink (used my SAMJ for proper placement). Matted the image with chocolate chip and black card stock. Sewed around edges. The base card panel - Stamped hardwood backgrounder using river rock ink onto kraft card stock. Next I stamped over again using the sanded backgrounder with going grey ink. Matted with chocolate chip card stock and sewed around edges with wandering stitch. Popped up image panel. Pierced holes and added the twine to the two corners. Finished inside of card.
I absolutely love this new stamp set
This is also for this months fan club theme - all cooped up. I have used a wood motif...
Enjoy your time in the spotlight, Cathy...

This is so gorgeously understated, Pat. I love the scene you created in the background of the stamp and the stitching - OMG! To die for! It really adds so much to the card. What a gorgeous masculine card. I am envious of your talents and attention to detail. Thanks for being part of the challenge this week, Pat. I feel honored.
