Rosalia gave us the sweet words and film clip of Cinderalla or as all her little helpers say, Cinderelly....ahhh big happy smile, thanks Rosalia. Our cards are going to Nicole, a young mum who has recently had surgery and is now undergoing chemo and radiation therapy. Nicole loves bling and fashion, so I hope our "All Dressed Up" teaparty brings some smiles.
After all the little birds had finished sewing Cinderalla's beautiful pink dress, they stood back and thought the waist band was unrealistically small. They didn't have any material left and Spanx hadn't been invented ...oh what to do .... Plan B was put in place - copy the feathered number worn by Carmen Miranda to last years ball (minus the fruit platter hat).
Here we have Cindy wearing a feathered creation with a touch of silver stickles and twine. Cindy is a Unity rubber stamp (they call her Angie), I stamped her with Archival ink on white cardstock, then gently swiped an inky sponge that had traces of Gathered Twigs distress ink on it to take away the stark white look. Fussy cut, cut bottom of skirt and legs off. I saved her legs and have stored them in my little box of body parts, to be used a later date when I accidentally cut her legs off.
Stamp image again on purple coloured mixed media scrap, using Gothic Purple StazOn ink. Cut out dress and paper piece the first image. Using lots of different scraps from my mixed media box I stamped the PaperArtsy feathers with the Gothic Purple ink and then fussy cut them.
The background was done by smacking Seedless Preserves in a few places on an aluminium sheet and also a few smacks of Dusty Concord distress inks. Spritz on a lot of water, drag cardstock through the puddles. This colour combination was a bit disappointing so I reverted to my smack and squirt technique by adding a few more smacks of the same colours and water, then using a sponge and blending tool swished the sponge over the cardstock. I also mopped up some colour using a black stained sponge, this gave a nice greyish purple effect at the bottom of the cardstock.
Using a fine mister, spritz extra water straight onto card and allow to dry. Once dry, I used my new Tim Holtz burlap stencil and Seedless Preserves distress inks. Randomly stamped on a dotty tree (turned upside down), stencilled a hint of blue at the top then added a few dots of silver paint pen. I then adhered Cinderella to the card.
I have a real problem when it comes to stepping away from a card. I couldn't help myself and picked up the silver paint pen again. I forgot to shake it and the pen hemorrhagead a blob of dirty watery paint just near the hem of her dress. To disguise this I quickly ratted through the bin to find enough matching paper to make a few more feathers and slip them under the skirt to create an extra long layer of feathers. Whew crisis averted!!
Thank you for looking ladies.

Fabulous and amazing! This is so awesome I don't even know where to begin, but I could just copy Francie's comment. I agree totally, with everything she said! This is bound to be the belle of the ball!
