This is for several challenges!
For starters, Robin's A CASE for Favourites Free 4 All challenge, to case one of the first five cards in our favourites.
Now, I browse the galleries a lot, so I cannot say if this was one of the first 5 I ever added, but chronologically it's the first card in my favourites ~ Cloisonne Sky Roses. I was very happy to revisit the Faux Cloisonne technique, and in addition to my more neutral IC-inspired "pear flowers" I did add some sky ones. It has to be admitted that a motorcycle magazine doesn't offer a lot of colour! But DH was very impressed with the end result.
It's also for Ky's Anything Goes MIX challenge, to revisit one of our favourite earlier challenges. I used MIX53, Lovely Layers, and used the Layered Gesso Background tutorial.
And with both those in mind as things I wanted to do, I picked this Gift Basket from today's IC467 Harry & David inspiration challenge.
Flowers and leaves stamped on magazine pages, embossed with gold and cut out.
For my background I first painted the base layer with gesso. Then I stamped a pear image and text several times with StazOn. Then I painted over that with cream and yellow acrylic paints. When dry I stamped with Wonderfully Worn in Versafine Sepia.
Then I stencilled part of the bottom of the card with modelling paste, coated it with copper EP and heated it. After that I stamped Off the Grid, the sentiment from Verve and the splash from French Foliage. I rubbed in some luster rub-ons, and sponged the edges with tea dye and walnut stain, then edged very lightly with a black Sharpie. It's layered onto a base simply sponged with Tea Dye.
