This my card for the HYCCT1427 challenge "Thanks x 2" - to create a Thank You card using at least two mediums. I used Distress Inks and colored pencils.
The image was stamped twice and one image colored completely; the second was used only for the hydrangea. It was colored using Distress Seedless Preserves, Spun Sugar, and Victorian Velvet inks applied with Brush Stix. This was fussy cut and set aside.
The base image was sponged with Distress Old Paper, the butterfly was colored with Distress Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey inks, and the leaves with Distress Mowed Lawn. I sponged the hydrangea in Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserves, going outside the lines and touching it with a damp brush in an attempt to get the edges of the flower to bleed a bit. I trimmed around the image and layered the second hydrangea on top. I used a black colored pencil to redefine the outlines in the flower and deepen the shadows. A light coat of Wink of Stella was applied to the flower only. The image is attached to the base with foam tape.
As always, thanks for looking!
