My friend, Wendy, (wereids) came over today and gave me this set. She had accidentally ordered two of them last year. I had sit right down and cut them out and try to create a cute scene. I fell in love with the bean, carrot and turnip. Well, actually, I love them all. Can't wait to do something with all those high fiber stamps. Too bad I can't loose weight by painting veggies. Ugh!
First, I stamped the three beans where I wanted them and then sketched the bean poles, strings and lots of extra vines with an artist pen. After coloring them with watercolor brushes and reinkers, I used a sponge to put extra Olive in the lower garden area and I sponged Barely Banana around each bean to make it stand out some before I sponged in Blue for the sky. I then stamped with my favorite little fern stamp from Watercolor Minis. Someone asked me earlier in a reply if I have worn it out my fern and was I going to get a backup. Yes...I am going to get an extra for backup as it will be my luck to have it retire this year. Anyway, I got brave and tried to paint extra little green curling vines with my brush and they came out OK. I had sketched a few in with the pen at the beginning. I painted in little curling vines on the Olive BG to match the scene and used fern stamp as BG on Plum. Sorry I'm rambling. Anyway, I think this is sort of funky and cute.
