This is for Dina's fun mix-ability challenge - Put Some Pink On It. As Dina said, some of us are Octoberfried after this big HYCCT month. I forget what my desk top looks like, it is covered in so much "stuff" that I haven't seen the surface for days and days. To take a break from cleaning up I snuck a quick look at todays challenge...woohoo thank you didi.
I love all the weirdo arty stuff I have learnt here by reading all the mix challenges. This card was started by spraying Dylusions Ink Sprays onto a sheet of aluminium foil, spritz on a small amount of water then lay the cardstock onto the inky foil, move around to spread the colours, spray on more water and swoosh card through it. Once dry, sponge on some distress inks in similar colours.
I was in the process of cleaning stamps when I made this, so I sprayed water onto a word stamp that had dried ink on it. Unfortunately I stamped it upside down..oops..easy fix, stamp the birds and branches over the top of the upside down words. Every other stamp on my desk got a run on this card. On a scrap piece of cardstock I stamped out Pinky, I coloured her face with Antique Linen distress ink, her hair looks weird in the photo, but in real life it is as black as the ace of spades and it is also sparkly thanks to a Wink of Stella brush. Fussy cut and put her aside while I made her a pretty pink outfit.
I covered another scrap of cardstock with double sided tape, stuck on the fabric, printed Pinky onto the fabric then fussy cut her frock. I gave her some liquid pearl buttons and jazzed up her tights with a marker. Doodled a border and added a fence. I also had some white paint on my desk so I used the round end of a paint brush and dotted it on.
This card is not quite HYCCT, I am going to write on it for the lady at the Mater Foundation who is collecting all the Aussie cards.
I had heaps of fun making this. Thanks so much for looking.

Susie, your backgrounds are just mind boggling! They are works of art all by themselves! I love those tights too and they did bring smiles since it's been a long time since I could wear them. Super fun card, colorful and will bring smiles to anyone!

Susie, I had heaps of fun reading your description! There's always a fix for a mistake, and you did a marvellous job of it. I love the background colour. I've got to get me some dylusion inks! I lve that you fussy cut the gal's dress out of fabric and those stockings are so cool! It's a wonderful mixed media creation.

Susie, when you started branching out with your weirdo arty stuff I cheered your efforts on! With each piece I see your free spirit take flight - laughing and having the best time. And that's what this is all about. Thank you for sharing this great mixed media card. I enjoy each and every one of your creations!

I too have enjoyed watching your mixed media cards become more and more interesting! I LOVE the colors in this one...the pink really pops against that background. I can only image how cool her hair looks IRL! This is WONDERFULLY crafted and as others have said, will bring smile to many a face! LOVE
