I saw the idea for this cute puppy on Pinterest and it was perfect for this: My 8 year old grand daughter Lami lives with her parents over seas. Last Christmas she was home. She asked us for a stuffed dog for Christmas. I kept feeling like her stuffed dog would leave her with nothing to do when all the other kids were playing with their rainbow looms, etc,. but little did I know, "Ginger" would become Lami's very best friend. She took Ginger EVERYWHERE with her. When we rode bikes as a family, Ginger came along. When they had cousin sleepovers, Ginger came along. When they went to church, Ginger went too, like any good Christian dog would. When we had family gatherings, Ginger never missed a one. When they traveled across the US and headed back to their home away from home, somewhere along the journey, Ginger "ran away" so to speak, and Lami lost her beloved side kick. She spent several nights just lamenting the loss, and when faced with the offer that we would buy another "Ginger" and send her right out to her, her answer was we could never replace "Ginger" and if she had another dog, Ginger might think she would stop looking for her, and she would never ever stop!! So we held off. Well word has it that Lami just might be ready to open her heart to another doggie this Christmas, so we are getting a new doggie - and we are going to preface the mailing with a letter from "Cinnamon" - Ginger's long lost cousin who found her way to a shelter somehow and REALLLLY needs a little girl who would love her....and Cinnamon remembers hearing Ginger talk of her girl Lami who loved her so much, and Cinnamon just really needs a home. Nonnie and Poppie already have Luca so we can't keep her, and we also still have Opal the guinea pig that we are saving till we see Layla and Brookie again, so our house is full of animals, so Lami...this poor beautiful pup is left to a life in the pound if you don't' take her?? What do you say?? Okay- do you all think this will work? This card is going out to Lami with the PLEA for ADOPTION of a new PUP.....do you think it will work??? I sure poured a lot of love into this card which I will send out to my precious grand daughter in hopes that a new pup will help her over the loss of her beloved Ginger. I will let you know how this all works out. Oh the hurts that our little ones incur that we cannot really FIX.....but we can die trying. Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Karen, Kuddos to you for all your effort! That is one sweet pup; Love how you created her! If Lami doesn't accept Cinnamon, then she probably won't accept any dog other than Ginger! The poor child. Beautiful card!
I remember my mom trading my old flattened pillow for a new one......and I cried for days over losing it! I think had she known I would react that way, she would have kept it.

What a sweet card and a sweet story! When my daughter was little, she had a stuffed dog too but lost her. Nothing could ever replace her. She just loved that dog and was so heartbroken. She grew up to just LOVE all animals, especially dogs.
I love your card and doggie - it is so precious. Hope everything works out!
