For Bridget's challenge we were to make a card inspired by our hero. I didn't even have to ponder this..my hero was my dad. He was the wisest person ever. His advise was never given in a harsh or intimidating way...he was a gentle soul, an introvert, very intelligent, and he had a wonderfully dry sense of humor. He grew up in West Virgina and he would impart many entertaining stories to us over the years....he also used to sing these funny little ditties that would come out of seemingly nowhere. I wish I had a tape of him singing them. He had severe RA (that's Rheumatoid Arthritis) for more than half his life and was almost always in pain. He endured many surgeries to replace this or that. I suppose you're wondering where this chicken truck comes in..as a kid he spent a lot of time at his grandparents house. His grandma (who was always known as Mom Miller) would ask him to go catch a chicken and he'd have to chase that thing all over the place before it was handed off...well, I"m sure you can guess its fate. Anyway, this is for Dad. I miss him every day.

Polly, I see where your wry humor comes from!! : ) Your dad sounds like a terrific guy and one who endured much pain during his life...yet kept his sense of humor. That is an admirable character trait. Love your card(again with humor) with the HUGE chicken riding in the truck bed.
