This is my card for three challenges: MIX81 "Rice,Rice,Baby!" - to use watercolor and rice, MIX82 "Rolly Polly" - to use something that rolls, and F4A235 "One Word or Two" - to use either one or two words.
First let me say this card looks a lot better IRL than it does in the picture, IMHO.
Second let me say that adding ingredients from the kitchen to your riced watercolor may not work out the way you intended, LOL. I really am NOT going to admit to the idiocy that overtook me while I was getting rice!
Third, the rice markings were more apparent before I embossed my watercolored piece, but to my consternation, some of the color came off on the embossing folder. I made the background last weekend, so it wasn't because it was still damp. Maybe a side effect of my "secret" ingredient???
After embossing the piece with the feather ef, I brayered gold ink over the embossing and heat embossed with clear ep. I actually had a sentiment stamped in gold, but when I heat embossed it, some of the prior embossing behind also melted (of course, duh!) and it was basically illegible. I cut the piece along the top edge of the embossed feathers and covered the mistake, adhering the bottom part over it with foam tape. Which explains why the card is such an odd size (because I know you were wondering...)
The letters were cut three times and layered for dimension before attaching them in a curve that follows the edge of one of the feathers. I ran the gold inkpad around the edges and attached the piece to the card base with Scor-tape.
As always, thanks for looking!
