Here are some quilled cards I made based on the animals in the Klutz "Twirled Paper" book.
You can't really see, but there are some dry embossed bubbles on the octopus and fish cards too.

ohmigosh. ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never quilled but am willing to try after seeing these!!! TFS. Do you use a pattern, or just freehand it?

Thanks! As far as a pattern, I used the Klutz book as a guide as far as what shapes to put together for each animal. I changed the colors from theirs somewhat. I also have a circle board with different sizes of circles, so you quill your paper and then release it in the size circle you want and it stays that size. Then you just have to glue it to stay that size. Works great for the ones that are perfect circles... the others like the octopus tentacles are just freehanded.
