Our inspiration site this week is so full of watercolor ideas! I chose this image: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1862010..._home_active_1
Before stamping the red and green, I spritzed each stamp with water. After stamping the outlines in black I noticed there were no outlines for the leaves, so I added a bit with the micro pen, trying to keep the lines fluid and loose (like Dawn demoed in the OCC). (Not quite satisfied with my results but at least they don't detract.) I could have left the background white, but wanted to try another technique from the OCC which is to mix colorless blender solution with ink (also Dawn's idea). I like it, but need more work. I did go over it with more plain water when I was done, to smooth the color out a bit. Stamped the sentiment, spattered a few black drops and mounted. Hi Maura. Gorgeous watercolored poppies. I think you did a great job adding some detail to the leaves with your black pen ... really gives lots of definition. The watercolored background is soft and beautiful and a wonderful backdrop for your beautiful blooms. Thanks so much for joining us at ATS&M!
