I went for a poppy inspiration found HERE on the fabulous website Audrie and Harriet chose for us today. Kind of sketched in a few poppies and stems and then applied a light color wash bg with watercolors. Then very loosely applied paint, not worrying too much about the drawn lines. When finished I then drew in the lines with a black fine line marker - not only can you go outside the lines with this style of watercolor, you get make your own! I have to emphasize, I am not an artist, I don't know how to draw, so if I can do it, I reckon anyone can, this is kind of scribbly stuff. Next step was to stamp some paint splats in the general areas of color, and last of all I spritzed on some paint in green, red, and black. Oh dear, I just noticed that I forgot to put in some leaves! :(

Bridget, I hardly know what to say about this. It's absolutely stunning! Your free hand is marvelous, your watercoloring so dramatic in the red and green. The black pops this right off the page! And those splats! How do you make splats look so perfectly placed. What a stylish card.

Absolutely STUNNING! I love that you sketched the poppies and stems...and how you layered the background with paint, stamping, and sequins. Highlighting the stems with pen was a perfect finish. The bits of black throughout really make the colors pop that much more. LOVE THIS CARD!

OH. My. Gosh - Bridget, you are amazing! This is exquisite - and to think it's basically all your own sketching, painting, etc. What an artist you are!
