This is my card for two challenges, TLC495 "Stencil Stamping" and WT493 "Spritz It or Spray It". Jenn demonstrated the really cool technique of stamping through a stencil to add color to your project, and Cathy challenged to spritz or spray any medium onto our project.
I started by spraying the back of my stencil with a light coat of Krylon Easy-Tack (tip from Jennifer McGuire) and adhering to white cs. After stamping the random snowflake image, I used a color duster to swirl the same ink over the entire piece. After it set for a bit, I GENTLY removed the stencil. If there is a slight tacky residue on the cs, leave it alone until it dries completely - the sticky disappears. I gave the piece a very liberal spritzing with Frost Shimmer Spritz. It looks like I started out with shimmer paper and looks gorgeous, but of course you can't see that in the photo!
I die cut the snowflake from white cs, but decided I wanted it to be blue. I covered it with VersaMark and embossed with a pearly blue ep, applying two coats. It was really pretty but darker than I wanted, so I re-melted the ep and poured on the lighter glitter. After tapping off the excess I heated the snowflake from the back to soften the ep and embed the glitter. Good grief - this would have been a lot easier if I had just used sticky ep and glitter! But I really like the way it turned out.
The piece was trimmed to size, edged with the Harbour ink pad and adhered to the base with foam tape. The snowflake was attached directly to the piece with Multi Medium Matte.
As always, thanks for looking!

I had to laugh as I read your deets on this card about that GORGEOUS snowflake! The things we do to get it just right.... Your results as a whole are just beautiful! AMAZING stencil work on this and thank you for sharing the secret of keeping it in place. My friend got that stencil and has been so frustrated with her results. I will send her your information! I am impressed that you are doing Christmas cards...GOOD for you! My promise to myself to do them all year fell on deaf ears! :-)
