Karen gave us a color palette of bright summer colors:
Cherry Cobbler
Daffodil Delight
Wild Wasabi
Pool Party
AND for dessert, THE FOCAL POINT OF YOUR CARD SHOULD BE SOMETHING OTHER THAN FLOWERS! So you can HAVE flowers on your CARD, but the FOCAL POINT should be SOMETHING ELSE, and NOT THE SENTIMENT!! (I'm quoting her here.)
Since flowers would have been a natural, I immediately thought of the next most colorful things in nature and thought "BIRDS"...and realized the male ruby-throated hummingbird has all these colors on his body. The yellow is stippled for his feathers on his side where the colors meet for his belly.
I usually like to do the CC lickety-split before I go to bed on Monday nights, but being in the middle of DTGD week, I thought I would wait to see what challenges today brought. It was worth the wait, there were several that I could incorporate into my card.

Your coloring on this one just knocked my socks off! I would have been clueless! This image is SO perfect for them! This is a beautiful work of art, Sallie and your artwork should be framed!

Wow! Simply stunning, Sallie! You are right about colors- your bird of choice sure has beautiful color! Love the contrast of the light grey background layers, balancing out the card. Gorgeous work! Thanks so much for playing along!
