Pink and Green from the Perfect Palette http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c3...1.png~original
I watched some tutorials on how to do the water distressed flowers and leaves and that was the beginning of this card. I used shabby white embossing enamel on the Spellbinder bird cage, and aged silver embossing enamel on the bird. I cut the flourish from MD and added glitter, I added the shabby rose and leaves.
(I sponged with the Victorian Velvet after cutting and before water distressing). Behind the rose is a multiple bow made from the fuzzy twine and behind that is the glittered netting (repurposed). I used needle and thread to gather the lace. (added some glitter...) I cut two MB Whimsey Circles out of the original paper I downloaded. The paper has some very suble images on it (green) but it is hard to see in the photo. (There is some green but you can barely see it). I cut the IO small butterflies and sponged them with the VV. I also sponged the doily with the VV. I sponged the edge of the paper with some Old Olive and distressed the edges all the way around. Not so sure about those pearls on the fuzzy twine, but it was so much work to get them on the twine that I decided to use them regardless. :-) As usual, I was all finished and had not added the sentiment so I decided to do this banner style sentiment holder and then searched desperately for a place to put it!
In the end it felt like I had everything but the kitchen sink on this card...and the only reason the sink wasn't on there was because I ran out of room....
I have only done one other Shabby Chic card...it was a long time ago. This was fun and very different for me to do! I am happiest with the rose :-).
Thank you so much for stopping by to take a peek. It is very much appreciated!
