This was a pleasant way to wind down my day. Today Dawn asked what is the Thing we do other than card making/scrapping/paper crafting. Truth be told, card making is my favorite thing to do. But before I was introduced to stamping, I did counted cross stitch. I loved taking that blank fabric & seeing a picture evolve. It's a hobby that doesn't take well to aging eyes!!! And I've always loved to read.
I chose this sweet image from the Believe in You set from There She Goes. I mainly use it for back to school, but she works very well here. I colored her with Spectrum alcohol markers, thanking Dawn Lusk the whole time I was coloring. And if you saw the picture Dawn posted on her blog or FB, you know I look nothing like this!!!!
To show my cross stitch passion, I used Aida cloth & DMC floss for my back panel. I only back stitched & then frayed the edges. I thought the Joy from SS was the perfect sentiment to convey what my hobbies mean to me.
I hope to get a few more cards done tomorrow as I'm leaving for summer camp on Sunday. I will be gone 4 weeks, but home on the weekends. This will be my last year to be the camp nurse. So if you don't see anymore from me, that's why.
As always, thanks for stopping by.

Love that aida cloth and your so perfect stitching! What a charming image, Karen and you colored it beautifully! I love the label you added to your image as a backdrop!
Lovely card. I like to read too, when I am no cleaning, cooking, doing yard work, or making cards. Have fun being camp nurse. My kids do camp one week every year for 4H and they love it. You folks that give are really special to all the kids. tfs your time and your card.

Soooo sweet, Karen. What a cute image and you did a fantastic job coloring it. Such pretty colors you chose and I like the simple layout. You have encouraged me to take out my Spectrum Noir markers and figure out how they work. Have fun at camp.

Love your card, Karen! You did an awesome coloring job and I like the Aida cloth. Nice to see so many of us are big readers - I sure don't see that much in the kids in my school district.

Such a cute card and great way to mix up the hobbies. I bought my first pair of reading glasses a few years ago so I could see to cross stitch. Best $10 I've ever spent!

This is a very pretty card. Love the bg panel, with the stitched edges. I can see, that this little lady is enjoying her book, and you have colored her beautifully. Love it. tfs.
