This is for Monday's Embossing Folder Stamping TLC challenge, and also for today's Design Love Fest IC challenge. I enjoyed browsing the site and bookmarked a couple of things but in the end I went with Audrie's second thumb, both the colours and the dots.
I tried the ef stamping on Monday, masking off an area for my image, but the water bled under the mask. Then I read Francie's write-up on hers, and how she'd stamped the image on the front of the ef so she knew where to add colour. I tried that today and it worked perfectly - thanks, Francie .
I added Gelatos over the embossing folder apart from the area I was going to stamp on, misted the paper and then did the stamping part. Went out to do the shopping, and when I came back it was dry enough to move on to the rest of the card.
Stamped the image and coloured it with distress inks. I used Gelatos and white paint to add the bokeh effect dots on the image panel and on the base. I also stamped the base with IO Bubbles in ColorBox Harbor, and sponged lightly with Antique Linen. I used blue and green Stardust pens to add an edging round the base and the image panel. The butterfly was stamped on an extra scrap of paper, coloured with gelatos, Stickles along the wing edge, and popped up along the wing edge, stuck to the image panel along the body edge.
I finished it off with a Verve sentiment (Bountiful Backgrounds) and some Dew Drops in toning colours.
