It's Tickle a Teapotter week, when we make cards to send to another person playing in Teapot Tuesday. Check here to join in: MMTPT295 ~ March 25, 2014 ~ A Fantasy, Fairy Tea Party by Cook22 at Splitcoaststampers.
This week's challenge was to incorporate your birth flower and/or the fairy for your birth month in your card. I guess I've never checked before, because I was somewhat surprised to learn January's flower is the boring old carnation. (anyone have a carnation stamp? Thought not.) Then, when I googled "January fairy" I found it was the Snowdrop fairy. I decided that the flower this fairy is sporting could be a snowdrop (if I made it white anyway). I put together a couple of Primas to try to create a carnation, just to cover my bases.
The card is a slider, for last week's Free 4 All. I'm not sure why only about 6 people have uploaded cards for that challenge, because this is really just another simple pocket card, and Dawn's measurements are perfect.
The fairy is colored with pencils. On her wings, I used superfine glitter in a pale yellow. There are Stickles on her lantern and on the stars on the card inside.

I love this modern day fairy! And IMO, the carnation is not boring. I like that you could choose between the carnation or snowdrop! Both are beautiful flowers, both work for this delightful fairy!

I do believe I have a carnation stamp still - even after giving one away . But I love snowdrops, so I'm more than happy to see your fairy in her pretty snowdrop dress.
I haven't uploaded a slider yet because I simply haven't had time to make anything much and it didn't work to combine with the cards I did make. I love slider cards! I'd just love to have more time and energy.
