A huge thank you to Loll Thompson for all her tips and tricks for working with copper. This truly was a learning experience since I didn't have a torch. I tried the heat gun first, but didn't get that beautiful flow of color that she does. Next, a not so brilliant idea was a bic lighter. Ouch! That thing gets hot fast. Last resort, the gas stove. I had a bit of success with this except that you can't see what you are doing. First attempt, overheated and lost too much color. I took out the copic refills and added some color back in. After finally successfully cutting the poppies I knew that getting that skinny thing glued down was not one of my strong suits. I opted for the inlay. The tiny dots were punched with an old fashioned Making Memories punch set and hammer, then picking the dots out of the tool. The background is a left over neutral gelli print. Thanks for stopping by. Sorry the copper colors do not show up well. The lighting today during another winter storm is less than adequate.

I applaud your going after this heating copper thing, you brave girl! And you got such beautiful (and a smile or two at your process) results! I LOVE this die and your gelli background and accenting dots ROCK! The "hello" is just the perfect thing to go with the beautiful creation.

Nancy this is stunning. I am in awe of your talent. Would a cooking blow torch work? Such tools are banned in my house LOL. This is an incredible card my friend.

Wowee, I am not sure how you created this gorgeous background or how you create flowers out of copper but the end result is just stunning. This looks simple but a closer look reveals what went into this creation. I love this.

This is out of this world beautiful. The bkg looks like marble. The idea to inlay the copper flowers was genius...it looks so lovely. The little copper dots are the perfect touch. And about shopping with boys, mine seem to be the opposite. They want to leave as I am parking the car in the lot. Luckily, Idon't have to get them clothes too often.

These poppies are gorgeous in the copper! And that background is gorgeous and lets the copper stand out! I've found that the copper is very hard to photograph! Either it glares or looks black. Your's looks very nice!
