Audrie has given us such an awesome inspirational site this week: RAIN on Pinterest. I chose this fabulous painting: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/387591111652226448/
I used distress inks, and tree stamps to create the scene. Black copic multi-liner to extend the tree trunks in the foreground, and then a black distress marker to darken the trunks. White gel pen for highlights. I carefully added colors on the path just like the painting to create the wet road look, as I've never done a wet scene before and wasn't sure if I could pull it off with inks.
TIP: The pathway had started to get too dark with the build-up of inks, so I spritzed with water and dabbed a tissue onto it to lift off the color - wow, it all lightened up up instantly - it was like letting the sun shine in.

You did a fabulous job with this challenge! Your painting is GORGEOUS - and I would frame it if I had been able to do that!

Wowza! I soooo wish I understood watercolor much better. You have gotten such a wonderful blend with the inks. The highlights with the gel pen add so much detail. Beautifully done!

This is awesome! Loved the colors you added to the wet scenery...who said that rainy days are always gloomy? This reminds me of home here in Washington...the rain doesn't dampen our spirits! Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing!
