For the base layer, I created a piece of wrinkle free distress with 3 greens, then stamped the IO Map on it in Sepia, and sponged on some blues and tea dye.
Pelican stamped on watercolour paper, coloured and cut out.
Sentiment - paper treated with wrinkle free distress using antique linen, pumice stone and old paper. I stamped the compass from Open Sea in stamped-off Versafine Smokey Grey, cut and distressed the edges, crumpled it up and added more distressing with inks.
Image: stamped on Bristol Board with Versafine Black and masked. I sponged the sky in with distress inks (squeezed lemonade, wild honey, worn lipstick, dusty concord, stormy sky, and more blue for the sea). Lighthouse coloured with pencils, clouds added with gesso. It's layered onto a piece of white card sponged with Walnut Stain and distressed. Edges stitched with brown thread and sponged/

Any of us who live by the sea have a special affinity for water and coastal scenes. It's more than an image that is evoked but the feel of the sea breeze, that sea weedy smell, and the sound of seagulls and marine horns. This captures it all. I especially like the ship appearing from behind the lighthouse.

The coloring on your lighthouse image is beautiful, and I like how you lightly stamped the compass behind the sentiment. But I have always been attracted to old maps, and I am amazed at how perfectly yours came out. It really looks like a vintage map you came across in a shop somewhere. All in all a lovely card.
